Japanese rock (sometimes abbreviated J-rock) is the Japanese form of rock music. Since the actual musical style can differ greatly from one work to another, Japanese rock only qualifies as a music genre in so far as it describes where given artist or band originates from and in which language titles and lyrics probably are. Slate.com points out that "Japan's long been a music geek's paradise, a Valhalla of reverent remasters of American and British albums that time and fashion have passed by in their native lands", and as a result, "Japan's bands are by turns bracingly experimental and jubilantly retro, a land where our own greatest music returns with an alienated majesty."
Visual kei (ヴィジュアル系, vijuaru kei, literally "visual style" ) refers to a movement in Japanese popular culture characterized by the use of eccentric, sometimes flamboyant looks. This usually involves striking make-up, unusual hair styles and elaborate costumes, often, but not always, coupled with androgyny or distinctively feminine or bishōnen aesthetics.
These looks have enjoyed popularity especially in Japanese music, ranging from independent underground projects to artists achieving mainstream success, with similarities to and influences from European and American genres like new wave, punk and glam rock. Magazines published regularly in Japan with a visual kei focus include Arena 57°C, Fool's Mate and Shoxx, noted bands who at least at some point sported a visual kei theme include Luna Sea, Malice Mizer and X Japan.

Dir en grey is a Japanese band formed in 1997. As of 2007, it has released six full-length records and is among the handful of Japanese bands to have enjoyed notable success in Europe and North America. While the group's lineup has remained consistent since its inception, numerous stylistic changes have made its music's genre difficult to determine (though it is generally considered to be a form of rock music). Originally part of Japan's visual kei movement, Dir en grey has opted for less flamboyant attire in recent years. More... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dir_en_grey)

Furuya Toru, who has been the voice of many famous characters (SAINT SEIYA, Tuxedo Kamen in Sailor Moon, Yamucha in Dragon Ball, Amuro Rei in Gundam...) as a charismatic voice actor, released his first album this spring. His dream has finally come true with the all out effort of avex.We can see his new ability as a vocalist. He sings a tribute for each anime character on this album. His characters, including himself, are heroes in the anime world. To support the new hero's debut, Gackt offers a song to him. Only he can make this album!

These are the covers I wanted to listen:
1. Aoi / Mizerable (GACKT) - I don't like so much the original song, but it's much better than this cover.
2. R-Shitei / Yurameki (DIR EN GREY) - Great cover. I like Diru from that time, they were more, I don't know, v-key? ^^
3. amber gris / SHINE (LUNA SEA) - I didn't ike the cover, but I respect amber gris that they tried to cover such great band and song.
4. Guild / Gracial LOVE (SIAM SHADE) - I liiiiike this song, cover don't...
5. 9GOATS BLACK OUT / Speed (BUCK-TICK) - Of course I love this song :loves:, it was the first song I listened from the album, and cover is pretty good.
6. ?[NEU] / HOT LIMIT (T.M.Revolution) I like the song, ok I admit this, even if it's Nishikawa ;p, but you have to see this video :sweatdrop:

About cover - weaker voice, but the whole song is pretty good.

7.HERO / Yuuwaku (GLAY) - OMG, Love this song! :hot: , cover is good, too. ^^
But I like these 2 covers better :-DDDD (those who listen Hyde, Glay and L'arc~en~ciel will understand me :-))

16. Moran / ILLUMINATI (MALICE MIZER) The song is not one of my favorite, but the cover is great. :-D
